It’s with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Richard Thomas McCain Sr. He was a devoted Husband, Father, and Papa who left this world on December 18th, 2024 at the age of 92.
Richard was born in Chicago, Illinois to Clarence & Anne McClain, and later moved to Caddo Mills where he grew up. He was drafted at the age of 19 to be a diesel mechanic in New Jersey. There he met his wife, Anne McClain. He married her and then moved back to Caddo Mills where they started their family. They were married for 65 years before her passing in 2020. He served our country in the Army & National Guard Reserve for 22 years & retired as supervisor after 30-plus years at E-Systems(L3). Richard had many hobbies such as spending time with his family, dirt track racing, traveling, taking care of his cows, auctions, gambling, thrifting, and buying stuff he saw as valuable. Or, as our Granny would say “his junk”.
He & his wife Anne McClain had 4 children, Rick, Randy, Rex McClain & Amy Whitney.
He & Granny loved their grandkids & had many family gatherings that will never be forgotten. Together they had 11 grandchildren who they loved & adored. Ricky, Rory, Rachael, Ryan, Regan, Mandy, Dustin, Teresa, Trevor, Spencer, and Eddie. Along with 20 great-grandchildren & 1 great-great-grand baby. His legacy will continue and grow for many generations to come. He will be greatly missed.
He was predeceased by his wife Anne McClain, parents Clarence & Anne McClain brother Don McClain, niece Donna McClain & daughter-in-law Karen McClain.
