Frank, or Max as most knew him, 83 of Greenville, TX, passed away on Friday, December 20 due to natural causes. Max was born on December 30, 1940 to Esta Parker and Henry Frank Gill in Winfield, LA.
After Max graduated from Byrd High School in 1958, he went on to attend Louisiana Tech University. Max served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War then went on to sell real estate, later he became one of the top salesmen and managers for Texas Distributors Inc. He eventually returned to the Shreveport area with his family, where he started his own home building / remodeling business.
Max met his wife, Dolores “Dobie” Nevill Gill through his sister, Ouida Gill Guinn. They married on August 22, 1964. On September 15, 1971, they had their first child, Leslie Anne Gill Gibeault. On January 16, 1975, they had their son, Phillip Nevill Gill. Max retired in 1994 and moved with his wife, Dobie, to Greenville, TX. They opened their own used bookstore, The Book Nook, which they later closed to commence their full-time retirement. Max enjoyed reading, playing the stock market, fixing things around the home and his dog Bella.
Max is survived by his wife of 60 years, Dolores “Dobie” Nevill Gill; his daughter, Leslie Gill Gibeault; his son, Phillip Nevill Gill and wife Terri Gill; and his sister, Ouida Gill Guinn.
The family will hold a memorial at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Shriner’s Hospital for Children, a cause he was passionate about.
