Deborah Brooks, 74, of Greenville, passed away on February 18, 2025, at her residence. A funeral service will be 2:00 PM, Sunday, February 23, 2025, in the chapel of Coker-Mathews Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Goebel officiating, burial will follow the service at Celeste/Hog eye Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until service time on Sunday.
Deborah was born on February 22, 1950, in Grand Saline, Texas to Henry Goebel and Thelma Horn Goebel. Deborah married the love of her life David Brooks in Oklahoma. Deborah was a home maker she loved gardening and landscaping. Deborah started the beautification project in Celeste, she owned and operated Rocking Horse Daycare and Granny’s Snow Cones in Celeste. Deborah was a long-term member of Living Word United Church.
Deborah is survived by daughter; Serena Butler, son; Shane Brooks, grandchildren; Amanda Fugitt, Marcus Butler, Donovan Butler, Skyler Gibson, Katlyn Grounds, Aaron Butler, David Shane Brooks, and one great-grandchild, brothers; Paul Goebel, Arvis Goebel, sisters; Patricia Prestige, Anita Goebel, Melba Jean Howle and Barbara Gray.
Deborah is preceded in death by her husband in 2001, parents, Lavell Hallonguist, Tilmon Goebel, Joel Goebel and Luettie Golden.
Pallbearers will be Caleb Goebel, Michael Pierce, Clint Mott, Brandon Mott, Johnny Coyle and Noah Grounds.
