Johnny Micheal Helms, 73, of Wills Point went to be with his Lord and Savior on December 17, 2019 in Rowlett. A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Sunday, December 22, 2019 at Ingram Funeral Home in Quinlan, Texas with Clifford Brister officiating. Visitation will be held on Saturday, December 21, 2019 between 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. Burial will be in Andrews Texas.

Pallbearers for Quinlan will be Logan Needham, Sonny Helms, Logan Brown, Don Kuykendall, Marcus Edgett and Robert Brown. Pallbearers for Andrews will be Joe Glen Hestand, Sonny Helms, Logan Needham, Monty Blackmon, Jason Helms, Jeff Helms.

Johnny was born on April 12, 1946 in Memphis, Texas. He is the son of the late Herman M and Lillie Agnes Helms. On August 19, 2012 he married Janney Lanelle Brines of Wills Point. Johnny enjoyed playing the guitar, singing, traveling, especially to the casino. He loved God first, family second and music third. He was a devout Christian. His faith sustained him throughout his life. Johnny was very giving and devoted to his wife. He had a tremendous love for his family and friends. Johnny is preceded in death by his parents Herman and Lillie Helms, one sister and three brothers, two grandchildren.

Johnny is loved and will be missed by his wife, sons Michael Helms of Wills Point, Robert Helms of Dallas, stepson Robert Brown of Wills Point, stepdaughter Melanie and Don Kuykendall of Wills Point, brothers Earl Don Helms of Houston, William Estes and wife Becky Helms of Andrews, James Elmer Helms and wife Geraldine of Andrews, sister Estelee Helms of Midland. He is also survived by six grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and five step-great-grandchildren whom he loved dearly.
