Joe David Crumpton Sr. was born on March 22, 1956, in Greenville, Texas to Murray A. Crumpton and Freeda Lindsey and rode off into the sunset on June 26, 2022, after a courageous battle with cancer. Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, June 29, 2022, at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Samuel Glenn and Chaplain Mark Crumpton officiating. Visitation will be 9:00 A.M. until service time. Interment will be in Sunny Point Cemetery.
In life, Joe was a proud Vietnam Veteran serving in the United States Air Force from 1973 to 1977. Post-service, Joe returned home and became a proud father to Joe Junior (Joey), Michael, and Brandi. He worked for E Systems from 1975 to 1993 until opening a mechanic shop, Crumpton Auto Repair in Cumby and then Royse City, Texas. Joe loved working on cars, riding his Harley Davidson Motorcycle and spoiling his 8 Grandchildren and 2 Great Granddaughters.
He is survived by his wife, Jenie Crumpton, children, Brandi Rouser, Michael Crumpton, Eric Harris, Jason and Josh Hamilton, mother, Freeda Crumpton-Brewer, brothers, Dale and Mark, sister, Julie and countless other adoring family members.
Joe was preceded in death by his father, Murray Crumpton and son Joey Crumpton.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Evans, Terry Mathis, Terry Jones, Kenneth Machen, Chip Langston, and Reavis Wortham.
Honorary pallbearers will be Tommy Poe, Mario Cruz, Mike Pierce, and Jeff Langston.
