Funeral services for Robert Neal “Bobby” Bennett, 65, of Wolfe City, Texas are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 27, 2023, at Bartley Funeral Home in Grand Saline.
Interment will follow in Sand Flat Cemetery.
Mr. Bennett passed away Saturday, May 20, 2023, in Kaufman. He was born May 4, 1958, in Dallas. Bobby grew up in Pleasant Grove and has lived in Wolfe City for the last 20 years. He served his country in the United States Army and was a member of the Carpenter’s Union and Masonic Lodge. Bobby worked in a refugee resettlement center, the State Fair of Texas, and Walmart for many years. He rode bulls in his youth, was a carpenter, a PC tech, and an animatronic tech in the carnival business. He was passionate about researching genealogy and wrote 2 books based on family research.
Bobby was preceded in death by his father, Gearl Bennett; mother, Carole Janean “Jeanie” Calder Dickman; and brother, Danny Lynn Bennett.
Bobby is survived by son, Elisha Neal Bennett of Wolfe City; daughter, Autumn Eve Schiele and husband, Michael of Kaufman; 2 brothers, Gearl Don Bennett and wife, Dawn of Grand Saline, and Johnny Ray Bennett of Pleasant Grove; sister, Terri Ann Hayes of Mineola; aunt, Debra Lines and husband, Gary of Mineola; 4 grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., on Saturday, prior to the service.
