Theta Jones, 82, of Greenville, passed away on May 27, 2023, at her residence surrounded by her loving family. Funeral services will be Wednesday, 10:00 AM in the chapel of Coker-Mathews Funeral Home with Dr. Kelly Carr officiating. Interment will follow the service at Memoryland Memorial Park. Visitation will be Tuesday, May 30, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Theta was born on July 24, 1940, in Aberfoyle community outside of Wolfe City, Texas to Jimmie McFarlin and Hessie Mae Boatman McFarlin. She married Charlie Jones on Friday the 13th in April of 1956, in Greenville, Texas. Theta worked at Henson’s Kickernick, E-Systems, and Raytheon where she made many life-long friendships. Theta was a devoted member of Highland Terrace Baptist Church. She was a loving and proud Mom and Grandmom to many and the biggest animal lover.
Theta is survived by her son Jim Jones and wife Tiny, daughter in law Kim Williams Jones, grandchildren Rebecca Guyton and husband Tanner, Jason Jones, Kayli Allen and husband Justin, Jacob Jones and wife Sarah, great grandchildren, Colt Guyton, Baylor Guyton, Trystan Jones, Avery Allen, Levi Allen, Harper Jones, Halle Jones, Beckham Jones and Elliot Jones.
Theta is preceded in death by her parents Jimmie & Hessie Mae, husband Charlie, sisters Betty Faye Isham and husband Marvin, Sue Kennedy and husband Allen, brother Joyd Lester McFarlin, and son Keith Jones.
Pallbearers will be Jason Jones, Jacob Jones, Trystan Jones and Tanner Guyton.
The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the friends and caregivers who loved and cared for Theta with all their hearts.
