Life Epitome
Mrs. Anna “Lucille” Hawkins was born on May 4, 1949, in Greenville, Texas. She is the second child of Ms. Nora Dukes. She attended school in Greenville schools having graduated from Carver High School in the Class of 1967. She was united in marriage to Mr. Preston Hawkins on August 24, 1973. To their union two sons were born.
She accepted Christ at an early age and was a faithful and lifelong member of Bethlehem Baptist Church of Greenville. She was a songbird. You could always expect her to blow the roof off if she sang at our local church musicals. She lived her life just like her favorite song, “Holy Ghost”.
She retired from Raytheon E-Systems after over 20 years of service. She was a smart and dedicated analyst.
She leaves to cherish her memory her children Lamont Hawkins (Crystal) of Forney; Dustin Hawkins (Ebony) of Anna; and two nieces that she regarded as her daughters, Tammy Smith (Byron)and Brandi Jackson, both of Greenville.
Her memories will also be held with love to eleven grandchildren, Parris Hawkins, Davion Brown, Denaja Hawkins, Danika Hawkins, Khamari Hawkins, Aniya Davis, Derion Hawkins, Jamitri Mutcherson, Dustin Hawkins, Jr. Sophia Hawkins, Dominique Rivers and Cayleb Hale.
Seven surviving siblings will miss her love and guidance: Phillip Dukes (Melody) of Greenville; Anita Williams (Johnny) of Dallas, Texas; David Dukes (Cathy) of Mesquite, Texas; Don Dukes of Greenville, Texas; Angela Payne (Larry) Madison, Mississippi; Jerry Dukes of Greenville, Texas; and Patrick Dukes of Greenville, Texas.
