Bertha Mae Brashears, 90, of Greenville, went to be with her Heavenly Father on the morning of August 25, 2023. Bertha was born on October 21, 1932, in Prairie Center, Kansas, to Mary Jarman and Clifford Rowe.

Bertha loved the Lord and was an active member at Creekside Church of Christ. She married Jimmie Lee Brashears, a combat veteran, and together they raised a family based on faith, love, and patriotism. Bertha loved her family dearly and did her best to always be a part of her children’s activities and interests. Bertha was deeply involved in her community, including being on the board at the Children’s Museum in Commerce, and with Hunt County Extension Homemakers.

Bertha is survived by her children: Ann Speer and Doug, Mark Brashears and Shauna, Jan Morris and Barney, Beth Nichols and Craig, and Leah Chennault and Kyle; grandchildren: Abby Parnell and Merrick, Stephanie Anderson and Shane, Clark Brashears and Jessa, Weston Brashears and Jessy, Robert Peaden and Monica, Dana Merriman and Josh, Lauren Boonstra and James, Nathan Johnson, Thayer Chennault, Sawyer Chennault, several great and great-great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews along with a host of loving friends.

Bertha is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Jimmie Lee Brashears; and son, Jim Brashears Jr.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 31, at Creekside Church of Christ in Greenville, at 10:00 AM. A visitation will be held an hour prior to the service at 9:00 AM. Bertha will be laid to rest at Memoryland Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations be made to Creekside Church of Christ.
