Bettie “Granny” Thompson-Russell, 74, of Quinlan went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, April 21, 2019 at her residence. Memorial services celebrating Bettie’s life will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, April 29, 2019 at Ingram Funeral Home.
Bettie Marie Phillips was born on June 24, 1944 in Valley View, Texas. She is the daughter of the late Earl and Dorothy Phillips. She was raised in the Gainesville area. Bettie married Charles Russell in 1973 and they made their home in Quinlan. She worked at the Greenville Walmart and retired after 25 years of service. She enjoyed square dancing in her younger years. Bettie was known as ‘Granny’ to all who knew her. Playing games on a computer became an interest later in her life and one of her passions was watching old movies on television. She was a wonderful person and was always willing to help others. She lived a good life, had a big heart and was well loved.
She is loved and will be missed by her husband Charles Russell; son Joseph & Kathy Russell of Quinlan; brothers Tommy Phillips of Oklahoma, Bobby Phillips of Oklahoma; sister Shirley & Mel Southall of Dallas; grandchildren Jennifer & William Sholars of Denison, Charley Marie Bridget Russell of Palestine; 3 great-grandchildren Kyson, Maddox & Jordai; and a host of other relatives and friends.
