Billy Ralph Hazelip, 92, of Commerce, passed away on May 28, 2022, at his home, with family by his side. A Celebration of his life will be 11:00 A.M., Thursday, June 2, 2022, at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. James Seiglar and Rev. Gary Griffin officiating. Visitation will be 10:00 A.M. until service time. A private family Interment will be at Restland Memorial Park, Dallas, Texas.
Mr. Hazelip was born February 25, 1930, in Dallas, Texas to Ralph Hazelip and Corrine Hill Hazelip. He married Margie N. Owens on July 18, 1953, in Dallas, Texas. He was United States Army Veteran and a retired minister. He served as pastor for 33 years at Old Concord Baptist Church and 12 years at Honey Creek Baptist Church. Bill had 35 years of loyal and faithful service at Kraft in Garland, Texas.
He is survived by his wife Margie N. Hazelip of Commerce; sons, Stephen Paul Hazelip (Lela Jan) and Philip David Hazelip (Brenna) daughters, Deborah Lynn Pearson (Gary) and Mary Jan Nerwich; grandchildren, Amanda Pearson, Lauren Pearson, Amy Pearson, Heath Hazelip, Halie Braley, Ryan Nerwich, Bree Dees and Ryan Mefford; and twelve great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, James Marcus Hazelip, and sister, Gloria Strange.
Pallbearers will be Heath Hazelip, Ryan Nerwich, Chris Fleming, Tripp Braley, Koltyn Hazelip, and Michael Dunn.
