Charles Carl Flowers, 95, of Greenville, Tx passed away April 28, 2022, at Briarcliff Health Center. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, May 1, 2022 at the chapel of Coker-Mathews Funeral Home with Bro. Jimmy Tarrant officiating. Burial will follow at Memoryland Memorial Park. Visitation will be at 2:00 p.m. until service at the funeral home.
Born February 21, 1927, in Erick Oklahoma, Charles was the son of George W. Flowers and Kate (Webb) Flowers.
He married Joy Frances Mize January 20, 1945, and they were married for 73 years.
Charles served our country as a WWII veteran and worked over 30 years for Henson-Kickernick.
He was a faithful member of House of Prayer Church for over 75 years, taught Sunday School and led music over 60 years. He also filled in for the preacher in his absence. The last 7 years of his life he been a resident of Briarcliff Health Center where he was very active in sharing his faith. We would like to thank everyone at Briarcliff for their wonderful care of our dad.
He is survived by daughters Darlene Tarrant and husband Jimmy; Paula Horton and husband Jack, son-in-law Tom Yager, sister Frankie Davis, and sister-in-law Joyce Douglas; eight grandchildren, Jeff Tarrant and wife Joanna, Cindy Tarrant, Stacey Whaley and husband Bert, Scott Yager and wife Carrie, Chris Yager and wife Tiffany, Connor Horton, Cody Horton and Caleb Horton and eleven great-grandchildren Tate, Lexi, Tommy and Teaghan Whaley, Blair, Titus, Levi, John Mark, Abby, Jackson and Jace Yager
He was preceded in death by his wife and parents; daughter Charlene Yager; sisters Dorothy Livermore and brothers Royce and Jim Flowers.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Jeff Tarrant, Scott Yager, Chris Yager, Connor Horton, Cody Horton, Caleb Horton and Bert Whaley.
