Christopher Wayne Jarvis, 40 of Greenville, died Thursday at Hunt Regional Medical Center after a nine-year courageous battle with brain cancer.  Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Monday, July 22, 2019 at Van Sickle Baptist Church with Rev. Roger Ratliff officiating.  Interment will follow in Memoryland Memorial Park.  Visitation will be 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Sunday at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home.

Chris was born in Greenville on September 26, 1978.  He was the son of Marshall D. Jarvis, Sr. and Wanda Janie Jarvis.  He was an active member of Van Sickle Baptist Church, giving his life to the Lord as a teenager.  He was employed by L-3 and was a member of 967 Auto Workers Union, L-3 Bass Club, and Greenville Masonic Lodge.  He was a former football and basketball commissioner with the Lone Oak Youth Sports Association.

Chris was an easy-going, good-natured, fun-loving, big-hearted person.  He was an avid bass fisherman, loved the outdoors and all sports.  He was also an honor student in school and never missed a day.

Survivors include his children, Clay Jarvis and Chloe’ Jarvis; parents, Marshall and Janie Jarvis; brothers, Marshall Jarvis, Jr. and wife Donna and Randy Jarvis and wife Jackie; sister, Kelly Pulley and husband James; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Cody Jarvis, Justin Nelson, Jace Jarvis, Marshall Jarvis, Jr., Randy Jarvis, and Kelly Pulley.
