Claud Bell “C. B.” Pickle, 97, of Greenville passed away Sunday, October 3, 2021 at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, October 7th at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Kelly Carr and Rev. Jimmy Vaughn officiating. Burial will follow at Memoryland Memorial Park.
Born December 29, 1923, in the Dixon Community of Hunt County, Claud Bell was the son of Claud Bell Pickle, Sr. and Rausey (Fitzgerald) Pickle. On July 21, 1951, at Dixon Baptist Church in Hunt County, he married Athalene McCloud who preceded him in death in 1974. Mr. Pickle was a custom home builder in the Greenville area for many years, and he formerly co-owned and operated Pickle Brothers Lumber Company in Greenville. He was a former active member and deacon of Dixon Baptist Church where he faithfully served for many years.
His survivors include three daughters, Regina Ragsdale and husband, Roy of Greenville, Theda Ray and husband, Don of Cherokee, Texas and Tena Morgan of Greenville, eight grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, C. B. was preceded in death by his brothers, James Pickle and Bobby Pickle; sisters, Millie Barker, Frances Fincher, Effie Mays and Helen Hart.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Lee Ragsdale, Scott Ragsdale, Bryan Ragsdale, Neil Ragsdale, Donny Ray, Jody Ray and Kyle Morgan.
