Dolores Ann Harbuck Smith passed away Sunday, April 3, 2022.  She was born in Greenville on August 4, 1936 to Lucian Wade and Evelyn Morrow Harbuck.

A memorial service will be held at the chapel of Coker-Mathews Funeral Home on Saturday, April 9, 2022 at 2:00 p.m., with Rev. Phillip Dukes and Rev. John Shasteen officiating.  Inurnment of ashes will follow at Memoryland Memorial Park where Dolores’ husband, Charles is buried. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until service time.

Dolores was baptized at age 12 into Central Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and transferred her membership in September 2001 to Crestview Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).

Dolores was involved in activities at Greenville High School and graduated as Valedictorian in 1954.  After a semester at ETSU in Commerce, she went to work at Greenville Morning Herald as a society writer.  She went on to work for the City of Greenville in the Tax and Utilities departments.  She retired as an Employment Interviewer II from Texas Employment Commission.

She married Charles Smith on September 10, 1955.  Charles and Dolores made many motorcycle trips during their life together.  One of their favorite destinations was Colorado.  She and Charles raised two sons and when Charles passed away on January 31, 1992, she continued to live in their home until her death.

Dolores was preceded in death by her husband, Charles; parents; brother, Jimmy Harbuck; sister, Pat Stewart; brother in law, Joe Stewart; and sister in law, Dell Harbuck.

She is survived by her brother, Mike Harbuck of Grand Prairie; sons and daughters-in-law, Charley and Beth Smith and Craig and Brenda Smith of Greenville; grandchildren, Clint Smith of Bridge City, TX, Nate and Kaycee Smith of Houston, Travis Smith of Royse City and Shannon and Nathan Pope of Carrollton;  great-grandchildren, Hannah and Hayden Smith, Grant and Miles Smith and Merritt Smith.  Numerous nieces and nephews and members of Charles’ family.

Dolores requested, in lieu of flowers, that memorials be made to Crestview Christian Church building fund.
