Dwight Lee Buchanan 75 passed away on January 29, 2021 surrounded by his loving family at his home in Celeste, Texas. He was born October 1, 1945 to Lacy G. and Etta Bower Buchanan in Dekalb, Texas.
Dwight enjoyed playing chess and studying strategic moves to improve his game.
He loved being outdoors and spending time in his yard. He had a green thumb and was proud of his well manicured lawn.
In addition, he was an active member of the Greenville High School class of 64. This tight knit group of classmates enjoyed reunions at least once every 5 years.
Most of all, Dwight loved his family and the time he was able to spend with them. From watching one son play football to helping another son build a new home he was involved in many aspects of all of his family members’ lives.
Dwight leaves lasting and wonderful memories for his family and friends.
Dwight is survived by his loving wife, Jan (Chambliss) Buchanan; children, David Buchanan and his wife Leah, Stephen Buchanan and his wife Nina, Casey Cawthon, Alex Cawthon and his wife Teri; grandchildren, Henry Buchanan, Kellen Cawthon, Ryder Cawthon; sister, Glenda Rhodes; nephews, Rickey Kirk, Barry Kirk, Mitchell Rhodes; his favorite puppy poodle, “Muffin.”; along with a host of loving relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at 1 PM at LYNCH Funeral Service in Greenville, Texas.
