Edward Gene Fox, 87, of Point went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, June 30, 2019 at his residence. Funeral services celebrating Edward’s life will be held at 12:00 PM on Friday, July 5, 2019 at Ingram Funeral Home in Quinlan with interment immediately following at IOOF cemetery in Caddo Mills. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 PM on Wednesday, July 3, 2019.
Edward was born on September 10, 1931 in Grayson County, Texas. His is the son of the late Frank and Annie Mae Fox. He was raised and educated in Gunter, Texas. Edward married the former Miss Ora Jeanette “Jane” Rutledge on June 17, 1955 and they were happily married for over 56 years until her passing on October 1, 2011. He worked at the Ford plant for 18 years and in 1969 he became self-employed. He ran several types of businesses including a tire shop, restaurants and bars in the Dallas and Tawakoni areas for many years. He was also preceded in death by his son James Lewis Woodall; brother Frank James Fox and sister Margaret Brent. Edward enjoyed his family and friends very much, especially his grandkids. He loved riding around seeing the country with his Wife, Jane, when they were younger. Riding his tractor and taking care of his garden and land were other favorite past times he had.
He is loved and will be missed by his son Edward Gene Fox Jr. & wife Brenda of West Tawakoni; daughters Vickie Jean King & husband Ray of Anna, Shelly Westman & husband Barry of Gunter, Cathy Jane Fox of Point, Susan Holland & husband Jeff of Point; sisters Joan Pudom & husband Frank of Sherman, Dorothy McCullom of Sherman, Cinda Russell & husband Merle of Texoma; 18 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren and many friends.
