Mrs. Helen Blankenship Dodd, 90, of Greenville, passed away peacefully at her home on May 16, 2025. She was born on July 26, 1934, in Hunt County, to Wise Murphy and Rosa Mildred Skaggs Blankenship.

Helen married the love of her life, Kenneth Dodd, on July 24, 1964, in Terrell, Texas. She spent most of her life in Lone Oak, where she was a long-time and faithful member of Lone Oak Assembly of God.

Helen was known for her warm heart, creative hands, and nurturing spirit. She loved sewing, collecting owls, and most of all, taking care of her grandchildren. Her home was always filled with the comforting aroma of her cooking, and she was especially renowned for her delicious pies and chocolate fudge.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Kenneth Dodd; daughter, Maxine Holley; brothers, Elmer Blankenship and Bill Blankenship; and sisters, Beulah Mae Jenkins and Ruby Smith.

Helen is survived by her daughter, Karla McDaniel and husband Brett of Greenville; son-in-law, Mendell Holley of Lone Oak; brother, Elice Blankenship of Clinton, AR; three sisters: Linda Haney and husband Phil of Eastland, Mildred Sierra and husband Ernie of Andrews, and Jerldean Smith and husband Dennis of Denton; sister-in-law, Joy Blankenship of Floyd; grandchildren: Gary Wallace and wife Natasha, Kacie Kaake and husband Russell, Kenny Reaves and wife Lindsay, and Katina Reaves and husband Lance; twelve great-grandchildren; fourteen great-great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends who will cherish her memory.
