J.L. Boles, Jr., 90, of Greenville, passed away on May 22, 2020, in Greenville. Visitation will be Thursday, May 28, 10:00 AM-12:00 PM, at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 PM at Memoryland Memorial Park in Greenville, his son-in-law Kenneth Hall officiating.
Mr. Boles was born June 18, 1929, in Honey Grove, Texas, to James Larkin Boles and Nannie Dyer Boles. He graduated from Honey Grove High School in 1947; served in the United Stated Air Force 1948-1952; graduated from Paris Junior College in 1954; married Martha Kilpatrick on June 2, 1954; and earned his aeronautical engineering degree from the University of Texas in 1957. They moved to Greenville in 1962. Over the years, J.L. helped coach many of his sons’ baseball teams at Bill Betts Park, retired from E-Systems, was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, and was active in the F.I.S.H. ministry.
J.L. is survived by sons, Bobby Boles and wife Jerri of Cabo San Lucas, Mexico; Eddy Boles and wife Beth of Victoria; Ronny Boles and wife Rachel of Hewitt; Jarrell Boles and wife Renee of Taylor; daughter, Jana Hall and husband Kenneth of Crawford; grandchildren, Susan Enriquez, Alex Boles, Kelli Raymond, Katy Riedesel, Carly Boles, Drew Boles, Matthew Boles, Jake Boles, Abby Boles, Trey Boles, Hogan Hall, and Huston Hall; nine great-grandchildren; and brother Ray Boles of Duncanville.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Martha; his parents; and six siblings.
