Jacqueline Kay ”Jackie” Lewis, age 87, of Greenville, Texas, passed away peacefully in Greenville, Texas, January 3, 2025, surrounded by her family.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 PM, Friday, January 10, 2025, at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home in Greenville. A graveside service in Bullard, Texas, will be scheduled at a later date.
Born on October 25, 1937, in Jacksonville, Texas, Jackie was the cherished daughter of Dois and Laura Curley. After living in several towns during her childhood, her family ultimately settled in Bullard, Texas, where she graduated as the high school Salutatorian. It was there that she met Kenneth Lewis, the love of her life. The couple shared 53 wonderful years together before Kenneth’s passing in 2009.
Jackie pursued accounting studies at the Federal Institute Professional School of Business and later built a fulfilling career as a bookkeeper at Fair Oil Company, working under Mr. Sam Bright. During her tenure, she forged lifelong friendships with Maudie Dudley and Jean Carr and many more.
An avid reader and expert in word puzzles, Jackie also loved traveling with Kenneth and their family. The beach was one of her favorite destinations where she spent hours searching for seashells. Another favorite was camping and fishing in Toledo Bend at the ”Fish Camp” Jackie had a talent for crafts, often creating special keepsakes for her granddaughters, such as mums and t-shirt dresses. Her hobbies included cross-stitching beautiful artworks and hand-sewing Christmas stockings that became family treasures.
Jackie was a member of Highland Terrace Baptist Church in Greenville, Texas, where her faith and community brought her joy.
She is survived by her daughter, D’Ann Ralson, and her husband, Dr. James Ralson, of Greenville; brother-in-law Harold Lewis and his wife, Jocie, of Bullard; four grandchildren: Angie Padgett and husband, Scott Saul of Fort Worth; Phillip Ralson and his wife, Elizabeth, of Keller; Dr. Lori Ralson-Wyatt of Caddo Mills; and Beth Turzer and her husband, Todd, of Burleson; and eight great-grandchildren: Colton Padgett, Brody Padgett, Truitt Ralson, Marshall Ralson, Lucy Ralson, Phoebe Wyatt, Theson Turzer, and Tristen Turzer. Jackie’s beloved cousin and best friend, Laura Gene Newburn, and her husband, Billy James, of Bullard, also survive her.
Jackie will be deeply missed by her family and friends, but her legacy of love, creativity, and devotion will continue in those who knew her.
