On July 2, 2019 at 5:15 PM, James Edwin Reader went to be with the Lord while at home surrounded by family and friends in Caddo Mills, Texas. He was born August 19, 1946.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Nancy Gassman Reader; daughter, Gena Reader Black and her husband Michael Scott Black of Caddo Mills; son, Jason C. Reader and his wife Melissa Smoot Reader of Arkansas; son, Jacob D. Reader and his wife Eva Reader of Caddo Mills; 9 grandchildren and their spouses; 5 great-grandchildren; brother Jimmy Allison of Plano; brother Jerry Vaughn and his wife Jewel Vaughn of Garland. He is preceded in death by his mother, Estelle Gladys Reader; father, Marion Earl Reader; and brother, Harvey M. Reader.
James was a truck driver for over 30 years at Central Freight Lines and Nation Ways. He was a member of Local 745 of Teamsters Union and very actively involved in his younger years.
He loved to hunt, fish, travel and spend time with his family and friends, mostly hosting big B-B_Q’s and cookouts at the Reader farm. He will be missed.
A Private Memorial service will be held at a later date.
