Funeral service for James Kent Holt, age 64, of Quinlan will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, April 22, 2023 at First Baptist Church of West Tawakoni with Lonnie Erwin officiating and Jr. Miller, Kevin Holt, Derrick Holt, Bill McBride, Isaiah Thomasson, and Michael Holt serving as pallbearers. Visitation will take place 30 minutes prior. Mr. Holt left this life to be with his Lord and Savior on April 18, 2023.
Kent was born on September 26, 1958 in Harrison, Arkansas to Marion and Axine Holt. He married Carla Parkey on May 10, 1975. They had one son, Danny. Kent grew up in Haltom City. He worked many years as a truck driver, owning his own company. He later worked in security. He and Carla moved to Quinlan in 2008.
Kent was a loyal friend, always ready to help anyone who needed him. He had a love for all animals and cared for many. He also loved fishing, good friends, and food. He was a great storyteller.
He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Carla; one brother, Mike and wife, Leah; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Kent was preceded in death by his son, Danny James; his parents; and two brothers, Gene and Jack.
