Franklin Benjamin Preiss, 74, of West Tawakoni went to be with his Lord and Savior Saturday, December 7, 2019 in Emory. A Memorial service celebrating Franklin’s life will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, December 16, 2019 at Ingram Funeral Home with Pastor John Brindley and Samuel Norwood officiating.
Franklin was born January 1, 1945 in Blanco, Texas to the late Willie Preiss and Viola Wuest Preiss. He was raised in the south Texas area in Blanco and New Braunfels and later in Ozan, Arkansas. On October 19, 1963, he married the former Miss Wilma Jean Jenkins and they were married for 56 years. Franklin worked for an envelope company for 44 years as a machinist. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and spent much of his free time fishing, hunting, and gardening. Franklin also loved working on his family’s land planting trees and picked cotton as a child for extra money. When he relaxed, he loved watching westerns and sitting on the porch watching the wildlife. His pride and joy were his granddaughters, and his third daughter, his dog Loretta. He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and four sisters.
He is loved and will be missed by his wife Jeanie; daughters Rhonda Taylor and husband Gary of West Tawakoni, Texas and Sabrina Norwood and husband Samuel of Palacios, Texas; grandchildren Shelby Royer and Brandon Royer of West Tawakoni, Sabra Sims and Levis Sims of Kileen, Texas, Matthew Tyler Norwood, Daniel Clayton Norwood, and Samantha Renee Norwood of New Mexico; great-grandson Jaxon Royer of West Tawakoni, Texas; sisters Betty Durham of Mesquite, Texas, Ellen Bell and husband Wayne of Greenville, Texas, and Bessie Miller and husband Mark of Balch Springs, Texas.
