James Thomas O’Neal, 69, of Merit passed away Monday, January 20, 2020 at his residence. He was born in Hobbs, New Mexico on April 2, 1950 the son of William and Ruby (Fox) O’Neal. James married Karen McConahay on April 14, 2001. He served in the United States Army.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Karen O’Neal; children, Jason O’Neal (Chelsea), Amber Mullins, and Whitney Hoffman; grandchildren, Savannah O’Neal, Tanner Mullins, Alec Mullins, Conal Hodges, Wyatt O’Neal, Christian Hodges, and Logan Mullins; siblings, Dorothy Chandler, John Robert O’Neal, and Ray Earl O’Neal; and numerous other family and friends.
James was preceded in death by his parents and son-in-law, Trenton Mullins.
A graveside service will be held at Dallas Ft. Worth National Cemetery on January 27, 2020 at 10:15 am with Chaplain Paul officiating. Tanner Mullins, Alec Mullins, Conal Hodges, Wyatt O’Neal, Christian Hodges, and Logan Mullins will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 26, 2020 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Peters Funeral Home.
