Jerry Wayne Morrison, 74, of Campbell, passed away on June 6, 2022, in Greenville, Texas. Funeral services will be Sunday, June 12, 2022, at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Coker-Mathews Funeral Home with Dr. James Ralson officiating. Burial will follow the funeral at Brigham Cemetery in Campbell. Visitation will be Sunday from 1:00 PM until service time.
Jerry was born on August 11, 1947, in Greenville, Texas, to Bill Morrison and Altha White Morrison. Jerry was a United States Navy veteran. Jerry proudly served his country during the Vietnam War. Jerry married Sherrie Lou Wells on April 19, 1968, in Las Amamedas, California. Jerry served the Hunt County area as a master electrician. Jerry was a Union Steward. Jerry was a member of the Campbell Methodist Church. Jerry was a loving father and grandfather, Jerry would ask “Did you forget something, Where is Papa’s Hug”. Jerry was a man known as rough around the edges, but age softened him.
Jerry is survived by his sons Scott Monroe & wife Sharon, David Morrison & girlfriend Tanya, Billy Morrison, brothers Derl Morrison, Doug Morrison & wife Cheryl, sister Lavern Adams, grandchildren Vance Monroe, Cyndal Monroe, Ashleigh Morrison, Caleb Monroe, Lauren Cantrell & husband Wayne, Michael Monroe, Matthew Monroe & Mason Monroe and numerous great-grandchildren.
Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, wife, son Michael Monroe, brother Walter Morrison & wife Kathy, sister-in-law Brenda Morrison, brothers Fred & Elvie Morrison.
Pallbearers will be Eric Johnson, Jason Morrison, Lance Morrison, Michael Monroe, Matthew Monroe, Travis Morrison, and Mason Monroe.
