Jimmie “Jeannie” Gail Martinez, 56, of Caddo Mills, Texas, passed peacefully at home on the evening of June 1, 2023. Jeannie was born on July 31, 1966, in Ann Arbor, Michigan, to Bonnie Mitchell and Jimmie McCurry.
Jeannie was known for putting her family first and always supporting her kids. Her cooking was phenomenal, and her red beans and rice were her specialty. When she wasn’t spending time with family or cooking, Jeannie could be found watching old TV shows.
Jeannie is survived by her husband of 19 years, Clay Martinez; children: Dalton James Martinez and girlfriend Hannah, Dylan Gabriel Crowl, Rylee Kate Martinez, and Amanda May Furnell; and sister, Lisa McCurry.
Jeannie is preceded in death by her parents, sister, Tina McCurry, brother, Johnny McCurry, grandmother, Alta Gray, and an aunt, Vivian Jones.
A visitation will happen Monday, June 5, 2023, from 5-7:00 PM at Lynch Funeral Service in Greenville, Texas. A funeral service will happen on Tuesday, June 6, 2023, starting at 11:00 AM also at Lynch Funeral Service. Interment will follow at the Merit Cemetery in Merit, Texas.
