Joel Wade Ivie, formerly of Amarillo, passed away at his home on
September 7, 2024. He was born on August 11, 1968 in Anadarko, OK to
Alton “Butch” Ivie and Karan Morgan Ivie.

Wade graduated from Amarillo High School. He worked with his family at
Ivie Painting Service for several years, was an assistant manager for Kelly
Moore Paints in Lubbock, then a manager at their Amarillo location.

He was a deeply loved son, brother, brother-in-law, uncle (uncle uncle),
grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend to many. He was devoted to caring
for his and all the family’s fur babies throughout the years.

Wade enjoyed several outdoor activities including fishing, hunting, and
primitive camping. He had a great love of rock music with Van Halen
topping his list. He played guitar and liked to use effect pedals and change
the pickups in his guitars. He was a “tinkerer” and enjoyed making items
like homemade fishing bobbers, leather items, and simple woodworking.

He is survived by his mom, Karan Ivie; sister Julie Magee and husband
Randy; sister Lori Ivie Moore; nephews Lucas Magee and Crystal Smith,
Zachary Magee and Kelly Key, Jake Magee; niece Macy Moore; great niece
Adaline Magee; furbabies Harley, Willy, Ellie, Prancer, and Molly.

He was preceded in death by his dad Butch Ivie; grandparents Ted and Ola
Ivie and Virg and Bea Morgan; and cherished fur babies Brailey, Thunder,
Goofy, Simtu, Tinker, Katie, Henry, Susie, Sammy, Joey and Bonzo.

Wade had a quick and genuine smile and a magnetic presence. He was
courageous in this world with big dreams and a unique sense of humor. He
loved his family and friends with a deep, but quiet heart. He will be missed
tremendously.

There will be a Celebration of Life on September 21, 2024 at Floyd Baptist
Church, located at 4311 US 380 Business at 2:00 PM.
