Johnnie Lee McCool, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 16, 2023, surrounded by her loving family in Plano, TX. She was born on October 7, 1942, in Quinlan, TX to John Earl and Lora Lee Underwood.

Johnnie had a passion for life and found joy in the simplest things. She always had a warm smile and a kind word for everyone she met. Her welcoming personality made her a cherished friend to many.

After completing her education as a proud high school graduate, Johnnie pursued a career as a maintenance auxiliary at Rubbermaid. Her dedication and hard work were evident throughout her years of service.

Family meant everything to Johnnie, and she treasured every moment spent with her loved ones. She will be fondly remembered for her unwavering devotion to her son Timothy McCool, and grandson Christopher McCool. Johnnie’s face would light up with joy whenever they were together. She taught them the importance of love, kindness, and the value of strong family bonds.

In her spare time, Johnnie discovered solace in two favorite hobbies: gardening and fishing. Her green thumb produced vibrant blooms that brought beauty to the world around her. Whether tending to flowers or casting a line into the water, she found peace in nature’s embrace.

Johnnie was is surviced by her beloved son Timothy McCool, cherished grandson Christopher McCool, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, J.B. McCool, Jr., parents, John Earl and Lora Lee Underwood, brothers, Jimmy Underwood and Jerry Underwood, sisters, Joyce Palmore and Barbara Hogan

The legacy of love that Johnnie leaves behind will forever be treasured by her family and friends. Her kind heart and gentle spirit will continue to inspire all those whose lives she touched.

Visitation will take place on August 21, 2023, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Peters Funeral Home, located at 4201 Wellington St., Greenville, TX, 75401. Family and friends are welcome to attend and pay their respects.

A Funeral Service honoring Johnnie’s life will be held on August 22, 2023, starting at 11:00 AM, also at Peters Funeral Home. The address is the same as the visitation location. We gather not only to mourn her passing but to celebrate the beautiful life she lived.

Johnnie Lee McCool’s memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Her warm smile, loving nature, and genuine kindness will never be forgotten. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
