Kayla Michelle (Smith) Hudson, 34, of Greenville passed away Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at her residence. Services will be held at 10:00 AM Monday at Higher Trails Cowboy Church with Brett Bird officiating.   A private burial will follow at Memoryland Memorial Park.

On April 1, 1987, Kayla was born to Scott Smith and Pamela (Bowers) Smith in Greenville, Texas.  She married Clifton Hudson on June 3, 2006 in Greenville.  Kayla was a 3rd grade teacher at Miss May Vernon Elementary School in Royse City.  She was a member of Higher Trails Cowboy Church.  Kayla loved traveling and spending time at the lake with her family. She loved supporting her boys in their sports activities. Most of all, she loved being a part of their soccer families and cheering for their teams.

Kayla is survived by her husband, Clifton Hudson; sons Zane Hudson and Kavik Hudson; father, Scott Smith and wife Karen; sister, Kacie Scott and husband Westley; brother, Kyle Smith and wife Carli;  nieces, Alauna Scott, Addison Scott, Callie Smith and Kimber Smith; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Becky and Roy Hudson; brother-in-law, Craig Hudson and wife, Sarah and niece and nephew, Abigail and Brayden Hudson; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.  Kayla’s family is all from the Greenville area. She has been surrounded by her loving family who has provided her with excellent, loving care.  She will be greatly missed by her family and friends who are grateful for having known and loved Kayla.

Her family has requested memorials be made to the American Cancer Society.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Pamela Bowers Smith; grandparents Ray and Jennie Bowers and Robert and Nasa Smith.

Pallbearers will be Kyle Smith, Westley Scott, Kevin Bowers, Craig Hudson, Tommy Lewis and Drew Holloway.  Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Gardner and Kevin Eldridge.
