Hawk proudly served his country in the US Army during the Korean War Era from 1952 to 1955, and in the US Army Reserves totaling 8 years of service. During this time, he was presented with 3 service metals including the Korean Service Metal with 2 Bronze Stars.
He was a real “man’s man,” his love has always been being outdoors, fishing, hunting, camping, and going to the casinos.
Hawk’s greatest love has always been and will always be his beloved wife, Rita Hawkins.
Hawk leaves lasting and wonderful memories for his family, friends and his fur babies.
Hawk is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Rita Hawkins (Middleton); children, Glen Alford and Sharon, Penny Love Bear and Don, James Alford and Tami, and Sondra Conegia and spouse; 14 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.
Hawk was preceded in death by his parents; children, Billy Alford, Karen McKown Teresa Hawkins, and Sidney Hawkins; grandchild George Kenneth “Tutt” Lattig; and great grandchild Kayla Lodes.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, July 9, 2022 in the Lynch Funeral Service Chapel in Greenville, Texas.
Family request donations be made to Hawk’s wife, Rita Hawkins in lieu of flowers.
