Mary Joyce Turner Huggins (affectionately known as Moy) was born on Tuesday, July 26, 1932, in Hillsboro, Texas. She was the daughter of the late Mr. William Mayo Turner and Tommie Booker Turner. She married the love of her life, Oliver E. Huggins on July 26, 1951, in Dallas, Texas. They lived in Dallas before moving to Quinlan in 1985. Mary worked for 35 years for Oilwell Supply in Dallas and Garland until her retirement in 1990. Moy was in her 60s when she decided to try college for fun. She attended and graduated from Trinity Valley Community College in Terrell with an associate degree in applied science. She was a beloved long-time member of the Tawakoni Civic Club and the Ambassador for T.O.P.S “taking off pounds sensibly” East Texas Chapter. She was also a member of the Quinlan Senior Citizens Center where she volunteered delivering meals to homebound residents. More than anything, Mary loved serving her Lord. She was a longtime active member of the First United Methodist Church in Quinlan. For many years she ran the Christian bookstore For Heaven’s Sake in Quinlan. Mary gave to many charities; Lake Shared Ministries was one she cherished. In almost all her mail she received requests for funds for a charity, and she would give freely.  She enjoyed singing in the choir and rocking babies in the nursery. Mary’s incredible organizational skills was an instrumental part of the success of the annual Lords Acre, and she will be deeply missed by her church family. Moy adored playing games. She was a talented bridge player at her bi-monthly women’s group and a competitive opponent of chicken foot dominos at family gatherings. She loved collecting quilts and hosting extravagant dinners. She was an incredible cook and loved creating a feast for Sunday family dinners. Mary was known for her wonderful cooking, especially her homemade peanut butter fudge, liver, and onions. She was a true lady of class and elegance.  She will be missed by all that knew her. She is now with her husband, Sonny who preceded her in death on July 21, 2011.

She was also preceded in death by her sister, Betty Bedwell on December 20, 2013, brother-in-law, Jim Bedwell in July 1987, nephews, Bill Bedwell on January 13, 2013, and Bob Bedwell in July 1998..
