Kenneth Ralph Kidd born November 17, 1943, known affectionately as “KK”, passed peacefully at his home on September 24, 2024, surrounded by loved ones. Kenneth was preceded in death by his wife Virginia L. “Jenny” Kidd, brother Robert Kidd, and parents Ralph and Laura Jean Kidd.
After joining the Army out of high school, and then marrying his high school sweetheart Jenny in 1961, “KK” spent most of his career in the agriculture industry as a cattle buyer/broker as well as buying and selling horses. In 1989, he and Jenny bought several businesses in West Tawakoni, and relocated from Texarkana, Texas, after their daughters were grown.
Kenneth was a very social person, learning quickly that he could share stories, and drink a beer, with other former Veterans at the local Amvets. He also enjoyed trading and collecting guns and knives. An avid hunter in his prime, “KK” was known to be a very skilled marksman.
The thing that makes his family the happiest is knowing that he lived every day to its fullest. Kim and Sandy could not have asked for a better Daddy than the one they were blessed with. Kenneth believed in having a good time, whether it was with friends or family. Later in life, his daughters enjoyed trips to the casino with him and dinners at the buffet or steakhouse.
Kenneth is survived by daughters Kimberly Brasher and her husband Andrew, Sandra McKenzie and her husband James. Grandchildren: Adam Wall, Jessica Gibson, and Kolby Wall. Great- Grandchildren: Kinley Wall, Landon Johnson, Reece Wall, Braely Johnson, Brooklyn Gibson and Karter McKenzie. They will all miss their “Poppa”. Kenneth is also survived by a special friend Janice Keenum.
A life celebration for “KK” will be held at a later date at the Amvets in Quinlan, TX. Kenneth and Jenny previously requested that their remains be buried together, the family will hold a private graveside service.
