L.E. “Gib” Gibson, 82, of Greenville, Texas, went to be with his Lord in heaven on February 14, 2023.  Born in Mississippi to L.E. Gibson, Sr., and Gladys Gibson, he spent much of his life in Texas in Commerce, Wolfe City, and Greenville.

He graduated from Columbia Military Academy in Tennessee, where he made many lifetime friends.  He also earned degrees at Mississippi State University and Texas A&M-Commerce, where he worked in the Business Office.  He was the technical support and later owner of Floral Solutions software company. He retired from Henington Studios in Wolfe City.

Gib was a faithful member of Christ Community Church in Greenville, where he served as a deacon and usher. Many people will remember working with him as volunteers at Wolfe City Food Pantry and Hands of Compassion food pantry in Greenville.

He had several hobbies which brought him joy.  He learned woodworking at an early age from his father.  He enjoyed photography, shooting, playing golf at Webb Hill Country Club, watching birds and other wildlife, and creating beautiful flower beds. He never met a dog that didn’t love him.

Gib leaves behind his loving wife Mary Lois and his children from a previous marriage and their families.  Visitation is planned for Sunday afternoon, February 19, from 2:00-4:00; funeral services are Monday morning, February 20, at 10:00; both at Coker Mathews Funeral Home in Greenville.  In lieu of flowers, contributions to Christian ministries or favorite charities are welcome.
