Lowell Virgil Barnhart (Barney) aged 74 years of Greenville, Texas. Left this earth peacefully on March 26th at 4:06 pm.
Lowell was a Vietnam Veteran and was proud to serve his country in the US Army.
Lowell never met a stranger, he was kind to everyone he knew. Always easygoing and carefree, never judgmental or condemning of anyone, he lived in the moment. He was loved by many and many aspired to be more like him.
He loved the farm in Wyoming, Iowa where he grew up and attended school. As a younger man he would go back as often as possible to fish in the pond, walk in the timber, hunt mushrooms or just hang out with his daughter Rachel, his mom Pearl, his brothers, sisters and their families. Rachel, his only child was the apple of his eye, who brought so much joy to Lowell during their visits.
Lowell retired from Johnson Controls in 2009 where he had been a machine operator for 20 years. Then moved to the Virginia mountains where he enjoyed working outside, watching the deer, wild turkeys and loving on two cute little dogs. In 2015, Lowell and his wife relocated again to Greenville, Texas.
Lowell was a stable part of the lives of his step children, Teri, Bobby, Jeff, and Taunja, and their children and grandchildren. He loved them as his own and they loved him in return. A wonderful extended family that will miss him dearly.
Lowell is survived by Jean Barnhart, his wife and best friend of 40 years. His daughter Rachel Kruger (Larry) The love of his whole heart.
