Graveside services for Marjorie Ross Morris, 96, of Longview, formerly of Greenville, will be Saturday, April 20, 2019 at Memoryland Park in Greenville, Texas, under the direction of Coker Mathews Funeral Home in Greenville. Mrs. Morris passed away on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at Buckner Westminster Place in Longview. Officiating will be her nephews, the Reverends Sam Garrett, Wade Garrett, and Luke Garrett.

Mrs. Morris was born on July 15, 1922 in Denison, Texas to James Daniel and Etna Clayton Ross. After graduation from Greenville High School, she married Hagood Morris.  She was retired from AT&T. Since 2010, she had resided in Longview, Texas, and, most recently, at Buckner Westminster Place. She was an active and faithful member of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church in Longview.

She is survived by her nieces and nephews and their families, Betsy Dunnavant of Longview; Jeanne and Garland Irwin of Lake Cherokee; Bill and Miki Ross and Donna and Sam Garrett of Denison; J. D. and Nancy Ross and Mary and Gene Moore of Dallas; and extended family and friends who loved her dearly.

Preceding her in death were her husband, her parents, and her brothers, James Clayton, Jack, Bill, and JD.

“Aunt Marjie” was a gifted artist, an exemplary seamstress, and a loyal and devoted friend. Until a short time ago, she continued to lovingly create gifts of knitting, crochet, and tatting for her friends. She will be missed!
