Mary Louise Shelton, 89, of Waxahachie passed away on May 10, 2019 in the peace of her home. Mary was born in Goodlett, Texas on September 28, 1929 the daughter of Berry and Rosa (Pevehouse) Leonard. She married Dewey Thomas Shelton on February 24, 1947 in Quanah, Texas. She worked for Rubbermaid manufacturing in quality control for many years. When Mary and Dewey lived in Quinlan, she was a member of Faith Baptist Church of Quinlan. Her family and friends will remember her love for her family, her love to work with children, and her love for quilting.
Mary is preceded in her death by her husband, Dewey Shelton; her parents Berry and Rosa Leonard; one son, Thomas Randal Shelton; and eight sisters.
Mary’s family members who are cherishing the memories of her life are her daughters, Louise Moore and her husband Kevin, and Barbara Green and her husband Jimmy; son, Dewey W. Shelton; daughter-in-law, Shelia Shelton; 14 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.
Her funeral service will be held on Friday, May 17, 2019 in the chapel of Quinlan Funeral Home at 2:00 pm with Brother David Hammond officiating. Her interment will follow the serve in Lakeside Memorial Park with Tommy Cole, Rusty Green, Steven Cole, Eric Shelton, Dewey Cole, Maison Henry, Mark Henry, Rodney Fann, and J. D. Green serving as pallbearers
