Mary Virginia Byrum, 79, of Quinlan, Texas, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, March 15, 2021. A funeral service to celebrate her life will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, March 20, 2021, at Ingram Funeral Home. Family and friends are welcome to a visitation prior to the service at 11:00 AM.
Mary was born in Houston, Texas, on February 17, 1942. She was the daughter of Donald Garanville Lee, Sr., and Jesse McAuley Lee. She met the love of her life, the late Bobby Gene Byrum, and they married on January 5, 1959. They moved to Dallas in 1963 where Mary was a homemaker. She enjoyed crafts such as ceramics and macramé. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family who she loved so very much. In 1985 they moved to Quinlan, Texas, and she became a Home Provider, retiring in 2006. Mary and Bobby were married for 50 years until his passing on February 8, 2009.
Mary is preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Gene Byrum; her parents, Donald Garanville Lee, Sr., and Jesse McAuley Lee; her brother, Oakley Boyd Lee; and her son, Kenneth C. Byrum.
She is loved and will be missed by her sons, Dennis Wayne Byrum and Gregory Alan Byrum; her daughter, Charlene M. Keck and husband Steven; her siblings, Janice Marie Berry and husband Charlie, and Donald Lee, Jr., (AKA “Sonny”) and wife Mary; her grandchildren, Crystal Reyes, Melanie Comer, Angel Birkner, Shane Byrum, Christopher Schell, Julia Lattimore, and Aumry Campos; and her great-grandchildren Kayla Johnston, Kyle Johnston, and Rachell Taylor.
