Norwin Cedric “Ced” Derby, 91, of Greenville, passed away on March 16, 2022, in Greenville, Texas. A memorial service will be held April 16, 2022, at 3:00 p.m. at United Presbyterian Church. A visitation will be April 1, 2022 from 6:00 P.M. -8:00 P.M. at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home.
Mr. Derby was born May 2, 1930, in Hillsboro, New Hampshire to Clyde Arthur Derby and Thelma Irene Dennis. He married Kathy Head on January 22, 1994, in Dallas Texas. He was the Co-Founder of B.A.G. Corporation and a member of United Presbyterian Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents Clyde and Thelma Derby, sister Patricia Henning, wives Joan Derby and Elizabeth Shank Derby; son William Derby and wife Linda, son Norman Derby and wife Cindy, daughter-in-law Terry Derby.
He is survived by his wife Kathy Head Derby, sons, Steven Derby, Kevin Shank, Barry Shank and wife Laura, Chris Shank, and Tony Townsend and wife Chris; daughter Elaine Derby; grandchildren Greg Schmuck, Tommy Schmuck and wife Meredith, Christi Derby, Rowdy Townsend, Cody Townsend, Chea Townsend, Madelyn Shank Best and husband Tanner, and twins Rian and Ragan Shank.
Seven great-grandchildren survive him.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the United Presbyterian Church Scholarship Fund.
