Orin Fred Gillespie, 80, of Greenville, Texas, went to be with his Heavenly Father on March 17, 2023. Orin was born to Christina and Lester Gillespie on May 1, 1942, in Keota, Iowa.
Orin liked keeping his hands busy, from tinkering with different mechanical things to welding, he did it all. When he wasn’t on his tractor, he could be found playing solitaire on the computer. Orin was known to be an amazing listener and would lend a spare ear to anyone who needed it. He also loved flowers, prior to working on tractors, he was known for his stunning flower arrangements.
Orin is survived by his children: Fred and Janie Gillespie, Rick, Darin, Mark, and Christina. Grandchildren: Lisa Spraggins, Janie Lee and Roque Martinez, Curtis and Amber Evans, Justin and April Gillespie, Josh and Shannon Gillespie, and Jon Gillespie. And great-grandchildren: Seth Evans, Ethan Evans, Allyssa Martinez, Brantley Sprarggins, Boston Spraggins, Jonah Evans, Jordan Evans, Luke Curtis Evans, Ethan Gillespie, Evelin Gillespie, Emily Gillespie, Daniel Gillespie, Aiden Gillespie, Annie Gillespie, Asher Gillespie, and Allie Gillespie.
Orin is preceded in death by his parents.
There will be a Visitation Tuesday, March 21, 2023, from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. at the Lynch Funeral Service Chapel and a Funeral Service Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at 2 P.M. at the Lynch Funeral Service Chapel. Following the service, burial will take place at Forrest Park Cemetery in Greenville, Texas.
