Patsy Clindining Staples, 97, of Greenville, Texas, passed away peacefully August 4, 2023, at Colonial
Lodge. Funeral services will be Wednesday, August 9, 2023 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Coker-Mathews
Funeral Home with Rev. Dorothy Straks and Mr. Don Coppinger officiating. Interment will follow the
service at Memoryland Memorial Park. Visitation will be Wednesday from 10:00 AM until service time.

Pat was born on November 9, 1925, in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Givens and Mabel Brown Clindining of the
Floyd and Merit communities. Pat graduated from Greenville High School in 1943 and was a member of
the Greenville Flaming Flashes. Pat attended Texas State College for Women in Denton for two years.

Pat married Ernest Staples of the Army Air Force stationed at Majors Field on February 2, 1945, in
Greenville, Texas. After serving in the service for three years, Pat and Ernest moved to Dallas where
Ernest worked for an engineering firm for twenty years. Later, they moved to Richardson and became
active in many endeavors watching Richardson grow. Along with five other couples from Greenville’s
Kavanaugh Methodist Church, they were active charter members of Spring Valley Methodist Church.

In 1966, Pat and Ernest moved back to Greenville and joined a family business later known as Reed and
Staples Furniture and GE Appliances. They became active members of Wesley Methodist Church. After
retiring in 1978, Pat and Ernest enjoyed traveling all over the world, son Ernie working for Braniff making
it possible.

When Ernest passed away in 1986, Pat began an active and successful business doing estate sales which
lasted for thirty-three years. She enjoyed working with her clients and meeting new people and making
new friends.

Pat was a collector of antiques, loved golfing at Webb Hill Country Club, where she was a founding
member, and enjoyed her weekly bridge clubs. Pat was an active member of Altrusa (a local woman’s
social club), City Federation, Dirt Daubers Garden Club, and Rajabian Book Club. Pat served on Clean
Greenville Board for four years and Sub-standard Housing Committee for four years.

Pat was always grateful for her many wonderful friends and classmates she had throughout her life and
the many wonderful reunions and travels they were able to enjoy together.

Pat is survived by her son-in-law Roger Lowery of Tyler, Texas, granddaughter Allison Davidson of Belleair,
Florida, grandson Drew Lowery and wife Laurie of Richmond, Texas, great-grandchildren Caroline
Davidson, Claire Davidson, Luke Lowery and Peyton Lowery, half-sister Diane Bloyed and family of Broken
Arrow, Oklahoma and niece Vickie Cantwell and family of Plano, Texas.

Pat is preceded in death by her husband Ernest Staples, son Ernie Staples, daughter Gay Staples Lowery,
sister Bobbie Dees, loving mother Mabel, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Kevin Banks, Jim Horan, Scott Holey, Johnny Jackson, John Foote, Ralph
Hawkins, Jim Morris, Joe Leonard, Dan Petty, Charles Ranly, Mitchell Smithey, and Dr. John T. Tate.
