Funeral service for Peggy May Phillips, age 84, of Greenville will be held at 1:30 P.M. on Saturday, March 13, 2021 at First Assembly of God on Wesley St. with Rev. Brent Grissom officiating.  Interment to follow at Grove Hill of Dallas Cemetery with Eric McKenzie, Josh McKenzie, Jerrel McKenzie, Matt Phillips, Jerred McKenzie and Joel McKenzie serving as pallbearers and Tyler McGinnis serving as honorary pallbearers.  Visitation will be held at Peters Funeral Home in Greenville Texas at 4201 Wellington St.  Friday, March 12, 2021 at 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm. Mrs. Phillips passed away on Monday, March 8, 2021.

Peggy Phillips was born on June 17, 1936 in Gainesville Texas to Tom Johnson and Gladys D Holt. She married Carl A. Phillips in 1979 in Missouri, he preceded her in Death.  She was a bookkeeper by trade.

She is survived by her two Sons Jeff McKenzie and Russell McKenzie along with her daughter-in-law’s, Paula and Dawn McKenzie. She also has a stepson, Bob Phillips and daughter-in-law Mabel. Peggy was blessed with 15 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Peggy was preceded in death by her two husbands; Jerrel E. McKenzie and Carl A. Phillips, three brothers; J.Y Johnson, Dan Jonson and Dale Johnson, parents; Tom Johnson and Gladys Daisy Hott.

Peggy lived her life for the Lord; even in death she wanted to witness one last time;  she wrote these words in a poem; “We never know when Jesus will call us, when he calls us, will we be ready? Accept him at his word; he will forgive all sins.”
