Retha Sewell, 85, of Greenville, passed away on May 6, 2021 at her residence surrounded by her family. A private graveside service was held with family and friends at Memoryland Memorial Park with Bro. Jim Corbett officiating. Coker-Mathews Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Retha was born September 11, 1935 in Randolph, Texas to Roy Lee and Ollie Evelyn Minchey Oakley. She married Wayman Manford Sewell on December 18, 1950 in Littlefield, Texas. She worked for E-Systems and was member of Dixon Baptist Church.
Retha is survived by her children, Carol Pemberton and husband, Charles, Deryl Sewell and wife, Debbie, Diane Terry and husband, Larry and Curtis Sewell and wife, Rita; brother, Joe Oakley; sisters, Doris Messer, Judy Corey and husband, Tom; grandchildren, Nathan, Salena, Justin, Jennifer, Stephanie, Amber, Leona and 10 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
Pallbearers were Mike Currin, Larry Bass, Dorian Marsh, Nathan Pemberton, Justin Pemberton and Tom Hammonds.
Honorary pallbearers were Charles Pemberton, Larry Terry, Brian Harlan and Curtis Sewell.
