Sally Ann Schluter, 83, of Greenville, passed away on July 6, 2021. She was born on July 24, 1937, in Independence, Texas to Ernest Walter Burgin and Leatha Jewel Watts Burgin.
Sally was very active at Highland Terrace Baptist Church where she enjoyed singing as a part of the “Groovy Grannies.” She was also an active member of “Young at Heart.” Sally loved to laugh and spend time with her family. She especially enjoyed celebrating Christmas and the 4th of July. She was spoiled by her beloved husband of 31 years, Herman ‘Bill’ Schluter, until his death in 2016.
Sally is survived by daughters: Vickie Conner and husband, Rick; and Pamela Himes and husband, Kevin. She is also survived by grandchildren: Orion Casper and wife, Michah; Ilia Powell and husband, David; Emily Eye and fiancé, Chris LaSeur; Hannah Himes; Melissa Fox and husband, James; Kevin Himes, Jr. and wife, Regina; Rox Briley and husband, Ben; Renea Powell and husband, Jeremy; Great-grandchildren: Urban Casper, Ellanor Casper, Jaxon Berryhill, Aili Powell, Isabel Powell, Walker Powell, Brittney Teafatiller, Clayton Powell, Colton Powell, Caroline Fox, Natalie Fox, Thomas Himes, and Bree Himes.
Sally is preceded in death by her husband; Bill; her parents; sisters: Cordie Russell and Mary Jo Burgin; and brothers: Rose C Burgin, Ides Burgin, Ocie Burgin, and Ernie Burgin.
Pallbearers will be: Rick Conner, Kevin Himes, Orion Casper, David Powell, Walker Powell, and Jeremy Powell. Honorary Pallbearer is Jerry Bench.
Funeral Services will be held at Highland Terrace Baptist Church on Friday, July 9, 2021, at 2pm with a visitation one hour prior.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for memorials to be made in Sally’s name to the Highland Terrace Building Fund, 3939 Joe Ramsey Blvd, Greenville, TX 75401.
