Sandra Kay Dodson Yager, 68 of Greenville, Texas passed away on January 10, 2024.  She was born on December 19, 1955, to Lester Lutten Dodson and Emma Linnie Deavers Dodson.

Sandy grew up in Emory, Texas. She graduated in 1974 from Rains High School and later attended Tyler Commercial College. Sandy began working for E-Systems in Greenville, Texas in 1981 and enjoyed her career there until her retirement after 25 years. On July 8, 1983, Sandy married the love of her life McKenzie “Mack” Yager. They remained married until Mack’s passing in 2019. Sandy and Mack made their home in Greenville, Texas. They were an inseparable couple and enjoyed traveling together throughout their marriage and in their retirement years. They especially enjoyed their trips to Bolongo Bay in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands. Their love of traveling to the islands led them to renew their vows in 2003 while celebrating in Jamaica.

Sandy will be fondly remembered by her family and friends as having a kind heart. She had a special fondness for animals, especially her pets Libby and Itty.

Sandy is preceded in death by her parents Lester and Emma Dodson, her husband Mack Yager, her brothers Wayne Dodson, and Weldon Christian.

Sandy is survived by her nephews Jason Dodson, Jeffrey Christian, Johnnie Christian, her niece Fran Sparks, and her stepson McKenzie Yager.

Services to honor Sandy’s memory will be held on Thursday, January 18, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. in the  Lynch Funeral Service Chapel in Greenville, Texas with Robert Burns officiating.  A Visitation will begin one hour prior to the funeral at 9:00 a.m.  Serving as pallbearers are Jason Dodson, Casey Martin, Cody Rabe, Tim Rabe, McKenzie Yager, and D. D. Young. Honorary pallbearers are Jeffrey Christian, Johnnie Christian, Billy Taylor, and Blake Taylor.
