Sherry Gail (Nichols) Blakeney, lovingly known as “Ganna,” age 63, of Greenville, passed at home on the evening of December 16, 2023. Sherry was born on October 19, 1960, in Gainesville to Billye and Jerl Nichols.
Sherry was a member of The Word Church in Caddo Mills. She enjoyed shopping and loved being a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Sherry loved to spend time with her family and each one of them held a special place in her heart. Sherry leaves behind cherished memories and will be deeply missed.
Sherry is survived by her husband of 20 years, Aubrey Blakeney; mother, Billye Nichols; children: Charles Butler, Jr., and Meleah Butler; grandchildren: Seth Butler and girlfriend Christmas, Haydin Butler, and Hannah Rodriguez; great-granddaughter, Ashlynn Butler; siblings: Darrell Nichols and wife Vanessa, and Carrie Armstrong; nieces and nephews: Christopher Rodriguez, Elisha Rodriguez, and Rachel Colney; bothers-in-law: Ernest Jacob Blakeney, Robert D. Blakeney, Kevin Harwell Blakeney; and many great nieces, great nephews, cousins, along with a host of loving extended family and friends. She also leaves behind her beloved pet Maltese, Molly.
Sherry is preceded in death by her father, Jerl, and her granddaughter, Harper Rodriguez.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
