Stephen Harvey “Steve” Fortner 66, of Greenville, passed away peacefully at his home on August 28, 2020. He was born April 5, 1954 in Dallas, Texas to Boyd Ishmael and Pauline Opal Fortner.
Steve worked as a graphic designer for Crumpton Printing Company in Mesquite for many years, and he very much enjoyed this work. He loved the Lord Jesus Christ with all his heart and was a faithful member of the Oasis Church in Caddo Mills, Texas. He often went on mission trips sharing the Gospel with others around the world.
Also, Steve will be remembered for being an avid outdoorsman. In addition to going hunting and fishing, he enjoyed caring for his numerous outdoor pets.
Steve is survived by his loving wife of 9 years, Theda Fortner; their children, Jacob Fortner (Amber); April Fletcher (Shawn), Stephen Douglas Fortner, Daniel Ridge (Dena), and Julie Southerland (Jay); eleven grandchildren; siblings, Suzanne Matthews and Tim Fortner (Marion); and numerous nieces and nephews; along with a host of loving relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Judy Samons.
The family will host a celebration of life service at 6:00PM on Tuesday, September 1, 2020 at the Oasis Church in Caddo Mills, Texas.
