Thelma Odessa Wilder, 93, of Quinlan, passed away February 28, 2023, at her home with family by her side.
Visitation will be held at 11:00 am, March 3, 2023, at Quinlan Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 12:00 pm, with Reverend Jim Leach officiating. Interment will follow at the West Memorial Cemetery.
Thelma was born on May 16, 1929, in Quinlan, Texas, the daughter of Robert Hal and Hallie Evia Cotten. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband of forty-eight years Cletius Wilder, first husband Raymond Turner, brothers Lawrence, Ott, Buddy, Paul, Melvin, Arlie, Alvin Cotten, twin sister Zelma Cotten Patterson, son-in-law Joe Brown and multiple nephews and a niece.
She married and raised her children in Dallas. After working for 35 years at Titche’s (later Macy’s) in multiple positions, including restaurant and office manager, she returned to Quinlan to enjoy retirement at her home on Lake Tawakoni.
She enjoyed going to church on Sundays, having lunch with church friends, spending time outside fishing and tending a garden. She was always up for a game of dominoes or cards and most of all she enjoyed family gatherings.
Thelma is survived by daughters Jean Brown and Cleta Green and husband Terry; son Mark Turner and wife Connie; grandchildren Joe E. Brown and wife Machelle, Gina Helsel and husband Lee, Jim Rasberry and wife LaQuita, Erica Gearner, Theresa Green, Amber Racker, Marcus Turner, Kevin Turner and wife Rachael; great-grandchildren Justin, Chelsea, Jonathan, Connor, Lily, Troy Lee, Ashley, Jasmen, DJ, Cameron, Jadyn, Allison, Jessica, Stephanie, Francis Mae, Brandon, Dacee, Megan, Mark, John, Jack; eighteen great-great grandchildren; numerous nephews, nieces and other family.
Pallbearers will be Cameron Graham, DJ Morris, Troy Lee Pruitt, Justin Brown, Jonathan Brown, Connor Helsel, John Turner, and Mark Turner.
