Thomas Paul Jenkins, 83, of Caddo Mills passed away peacefully at home on January 11, 2020 while surrounded by his loved ones. Tom was born on July 20, 1936 to Coy and Aileen Jenkins.
He graduated from Caddo Mills High School in 1954 and proudly served as a sergeant in the Army National Guard from 1958-1964. In 1956 Tom began working in the mailroom at Mobil Oil and made the daily drive from Caddo Mills to downtown Dallas for 36 years, until his retirement from the payroll department in 1992.
Tom had a personal relationship with God and was a lifelong member of the Caddo Mills United Methodist Church. Throughout his life, Tom served on various committees within the church. Tom also worked with the local cemetery association. He was always up for a conversation and loved to visit with people. Tom was a devoted family man and was always there for his family with encouragement, support, and gentle advice.
Tom is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Lynn, and his devoted son, Clay (Susan), of Caddo Mills. He adored being “Papa” to his two grandchildren, Katie and TJ, and considered them his pride and joy. Tom is also survived by his sisters, Nancy Johnson (Donnie) and Mary Sue Farr (Dan), of Caddo Mills, as well as many extended family members and his beloved dog, Buddy.
The family wishes to thank Texas Oncology, Hunt Regional Home Healthcare, and Vitas Hospice for their help during this time.
Services will be held January 25th with visitation at 10 am and a memorial service at 11 am at the Caddo Mills Methodist Church, 2500 1st Street, Caddo Mills, TX 75135.
