Velvet Ann Baker went to Heaven peacefully on December 14, 2024. She was surrounded by love and escorted by angels to her eternal home.
Velvet was born March 1, 1961 in Greenville, Tx to H.W. And Ann Mayo. She is a graduate of MacArthur High School in Irving, Tx and attended Oral Robert’s University and Southwestern Assemblies of God College. She spent 16 years with L3 in Greenville, before retiring in 2023.
She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Ronnie Baker of Greenville, a daughter, Lindsay Locke and husband Shane of Sulphur Springs, stepdaughter Brandi Ashley of Rockwall, step-son Mitchell Baker and wife Stephanie of Quinlin. Her pride and joy were her grandchildren Joel Burton and Emma Burton of Fate, Lucas Locke and Adalynn Locke of Sulphur Springs, Piper Rose Baker of Quinlin, and her ”Best Boy” Copper, who she rescued several years ago.
A celebration of her life will be held Friday, December 20, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Coker Mathews Funeral Home. Visitation will be at 10:00 AM until service time with Rev. Garry Smith, Rev. Ronald Hight, and Rev. Ronnie Baker will be officiating.
Velvet was preceded in death by her father H.W. Mayo, her mother Ann Mayo and her brother Paul Mayo.
