Charles (Chuck) Witt, beloved husband and father, went to be with the Lord on February 4, 2023. He had the blessed opportunity to die at home with his wife and daughter by his side. While his family called him Charles, most people knew him as Chuck. Chuck was born on December 10, 1946 in Lubbock, Texas to Thomas Jefferson Witt and Annie Pearl (Watts) Witt. He proudly served nine years in the U.S. Air Force during Vietnam and eighteen years as a Texas peace officer.
Chuck loved the Lord, his family, and his church families. He also cared about his community and contributed where he could. It could be coaching a softball team at a girls’ home or helping with the evacuees from the Katrina hurricane.
Chuck was a member of New Hope Baptist Church and considered Terlingua Bible Church his home away from home. He loved doing what he could for the Lord. Chuck got deeply involved with various projects at several local churches.
He enjoyed working alongside his wife in their computer business and all their home projects.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Sylvia; daughter, Chris Witt; brother, Alvin Witt and wife Donetta; and many nieces and nephews. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
His memorial service will be held at New Hope Baptist Church, 8122 FM 513, Lone Oak, Texas 75453, Saturday at 1:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Terlingua Bible Church “Building Fund”, P.O. Box 191, Terlingua, TX 79852.
